RICHARD A. JOSEPHER is a shareholder in the law firm of Gutter Chaves Josepher Rubin Forman Fleisher P.A. in Boca Raton, Florida. He received his B.A., J.D. and L.L.M. degree in Taxation from the University of Florida. He is listed in the “The Best Lawyers in America”, “Super Lawyers” and “Chambers USA.” He received the highest rating in Martindale-Hubbel. He served as Chair of the Tax Section of the Florida Bar for the year 2002-2003. He is a former Adjunct Professor (partnership taxation), Graduate Tax Program, University Miami School of Law, and is Board Certified in Tax. He has written and lectured on various tax topics, including entity selection and pass-through taxation, including partnership taxation, tax procedures relating to partnerships and "S" corporations, and IRS offer-in-compromise procedures. He is a founding member of the South Florida Tax Litigation Association. He serves as a member of the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s task force to revise Florida Statutes, Chapter 608 (LLCs). During 1997 and 1998 led the Tax Section’s successful effort to adopt legislation in Florida which repealed the corporate income tax then imposed on limited liability companies. He has represented clients at administrative levels of IRS, and before the following Federal courts: U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court, and 11th Circuit Court of Appeal and State circuit courts as well as before the 3rd and 4th District Courts of Appeal. He served as member of the City of Parkland’s Charter Review Board, and has served on behalf of several South Florida charities.
